EDTC 816 Advanced Building On-line Communities
The course prepares students for roles as online community researchers, designers, managers, and users. It will introduce important concepts, terms, and theories about online communities. Students will gain a better understanding of how social science research can help design interaction spaces that encourage community building.

This webliography was created as a result of an online community scan focused on special education and technology integration. In total, fourteen online communities were found. Their unique features, visions, and member interactions are discussed, including level of outreach and other targeted learning experiences for members.
Community Analysis Group Project
This group project analyzed the work 0f a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. An analysis of her Instagram & Facebook strategies and interviews with the founder and team members were conducted. Recommendations were made for continued online community growth. The project was completed with cohort members Quinta Whitley & Alisa Martin-Leighton
This project required the creation of an online community prototype. Facebook is online community dedicated to using technology in the assessment of nursing students. In addition to the prototype, a paper was written justifying the design process and the choices that were made in its creation.
